Steven R. KRAFT
Steve Kraft was born and raised in Boise, Idaho and is a fourth-generation Idahoan. Steve earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations from Boise State University. He received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Puget Sound School of Law in 1993. While in law school, Steve was a Merit Scholar and a member of Phi Alpha Delta.
Steve began his practice in Boise, Idaho as in-house counsel with the Idaho Employment Council. His work included risk management and consulting for client businesses dealing with employment/labor law issues. Steve also conducted training seminars for management and employees on employment/labor law topics.
In 2000, Steve joined Moore Elia Kraft & Stacey, LLP as an associate attorney. Steve became a partner with the firm in 2010. Steve’s law practice focuses on the defense of civil litigation in nursing home liability, product liability, employment, governmental liability, premises liability, automobile and trucking liability, wrongful death, personal injury and general negligence. He also represents state and local governmental entities in tort and civil rights actions. Steve also dedicates his time serving as a pro bono attorney for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), representing abused or neglected children in Idaho.
Steve is admitted to practice before all state courts in Idaho, and is also admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Idaho and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Steve holds an “AV” rating with Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of the Idaho State Bar (Litigation and Employment and Labor Law sections), the Defense Research Institute, the Idaho Association of Defense Counsel and the Federal Bar Association. Steve’s interests outside the practice of law include running, hiking, boating and golfing with his family. Steve has four sons; Carson, Peyton, Jack and Michael, and a granddaughter, Emersyn.
