MICHAEL W. MOORE

Michael W. Moore is a native Idahoan. He attended the University of Idaho from 1969 to 1973 where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in History. He was a member of the University of Idaho Student Senate, played for the University of Idaho golf team, and was a member of several national honor societies, including Phi Beta Kappa. In 1976, he obtained his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from the University of Idaho School of Law. During his last two years of law school, Mike was a member of the Idaho Law Review.

Mike began his law practice with Imhoff & Lynch, a litigation/insurance defense in Boise, Idaho, becoming a partner in 1984. Since that time his practice has included aviation, product liability, insurance coverage, automobile, commercial general liability, homeowners, and construction litigation. His practice also includes representing the state of Idaho and many of Idaho’s cities, counties, and other governmental entities in federal civil rights and state tort claim litigation in state and federal courts. In 1995, Mike formed the law firm currently known as Moore Elia Kraft & Stacey, LLP, where he continues to defend civil lawsuits in the areas of aviation, governmental entity, product liability and insurance defense. Over the years, he has served as trial counsel for local and out of state individuals, local and national corporations, the state of Idaho, and other governmental entities in lawsuits filed in Idaho’s state and federal courts.

He actively serves as trial counsel for a diverse clientele throughout the entire state of Idaho, in all seven of the Idaho’s judicial districts. Mike also represents clients in cases on appeal before the Idaho Supreme Court and the Idaho Court of Appeals. Mike is admitted to practice law in all of the courts in Idaho, the United States District Court for the District of Idaho, the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Federal Claims. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Idaho Association of Defense Counsel, and the Federal Bar Association. He holds an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Mike volunteers his time representing guardian ad litems in child protection proceedings in Idaho’s Fourth Judicial District. He is married to Cathie Moore, a local realtor. Mike and Cathie have two children, Ryan and Katie. Mike and Cathie enjoy golfing, exploring Idaho, and following Boise State, Oregon State, and University of Idaho athletics.
